Winter Workshops: Calligraphy
Developing Your Own Modern Calligraphy Script (2.5 hours)

(pre-req: Intro to Copperplate Calligraphy (or similar) class* with Cheryl Dyer or previous pointed-pen calligraphy experience)

Swept up by the modern calligraphy trend? This is a class designed for students interested in developing their own personalized style of modern calligraphy.

After briefly reviewing the basics of the copperplate calligraphy script students will then proceed into systematically breaking the 'rules' of this lettering style and experimenting with their letterforms. Students will leave with the building blocks to make their own cohesive pointed pen hand and the knowledge of how to develop a personalized script. Students will also be instructed on how to use gouache as their writing medium.

Nibs, ink (gouache), paper and handouts included in class cost. Pen holders provided in class at additional cost if needed.
