On May 8th AIGA Nebraska took the opportunity to help bring The National Poster Retrospecticus (NPR) to Omaha. And, wow, what a show it was! For those not familiar with NPR, it’s a traveling poster show touring the United States showing and selling custom screen printed posters from designers across the nation.
The start time of 7pm didn’t keep people from strolling into The New BLK as early as 5:30. And just like its numerous other showings, NPR had a non-stop flow of people rolling through the gallery of over 200 posters.
With a great soundtrack mix from the evening’s DJ, Teetah, the atmosphere was prime for mingling, laughing and even dancing the night away. John, which curates each show, was incredibly busy all night selling prints left and right with many posters selling out by 9pm. (But that didn’t stop the party!)
If you’re an unfortunate soul who missed the show you can check out the NPR web site at NationalPosterRetrospecticus.com and see the entire list of designers and their posters. And if you wanted to buy one, don’t worry! You can even purchase a poster from the site as well.
