Meet Your Board:

Teruko Tsubaki
Barcamp Co-Chair | February 2016 – present

Why did you join AIGA?

I joined AIGA to be able to connect with other designers and creatives in Omaha. It is hard to meet new people when you get stuck in your routine.

What inspires you?

Packaging and type design. I always buy a product based on the design which is not the most thrifty way of doing things. But if a company can pay a designer to make their product stand out then I feel like I am supporting the designer and the job market not just the product.

How do you AIGA?

Day to day life is full of opportunity for design and I am always looking for good design in packaging, commercials, billboards etc

What do you like to do in your free time?

Binge on Netflix, hang out with my cats, scroll through Imgur, paint my nails, and doodle. Usually a combination of at least 2 of these.

If you could train wild animals to do your bidding which animal would you pick?

Crows. Because who doesn’t want to be able to summon a murder of crows to chase kids off their lawn?

What advice do you have for emerging creatives?

Internships. Do them. The most important thing that I did while in school was take an internship because you learn what it is like to work with clients and have your ideas turned down. You have to work within their parameters and still create something beautiful. It is hard but totally worth it.

Choose a color.
