There are lots of exciting things cooking at AIGA Nebraska! While our new website and lower membership pricing are definitely great things, even more goes on behind the scenes in addition to the 25+ events we do each year. We’re really excited for 2013 as we explore new ways to advance design as a vital cultural force and foster creative community in Nebraska.

AIGA Nebraska always has (and always will be) run by volunteers: that includes these guys; these; me; and of course many many more. And hopefully it’s also you. Our creative community needs you—and it doesn’t mean you have to join the board. We hope you’re as passionate as we are about creating a community that inspires students; facilitating collaboration among designers across disciplines, age and employers; providing professionals with the tools and knowledge to be successful; and enriching the “non-design” community through the power of Design.

But what does that mean for you? Do you have all sorts of wonderful ideas for designers that won’t leave your head? Do you need a mentor, or maybe business resources? Or perhaps you have your design business all figured out and want to share your knowledge! Are you hosting an awesome event for the creative community? Or perhaps you want to show an entire city what creativity can do? Are you passionate about how design can change our world, not just make a paycheck?

Let us know about it! You don’t have to join the board to make a difference. Our goal as a board is not to “preside over,” but to “reside with.” That means we want to hear from you; we want to hang out with you; we want to work with you to help make our profession, and our community, stronger.

Will you join us?
