Five months after applications were opened, AIGA Nebraska’s first annual Designing Opportunity scholarship has been awarded to two skilled and optimistic recipients. Scholarship applications were reviewed based on a letter of recommendation, four pieces of work, and an essay response. Each scholarship is worth $500 and was given during Me, Myself & Design on October 4th, 2014.
Congratulations to Shelly Xiong & Catherine Norris, the first recipients of AIGA Nebraska’s annual Designing Opportunity scholarship!
As we know, Nebraska is fantastic! We have Midwestern roots, an honest work ethic and hospitality that can’t be beat. It’s these values in every AIGA Nebraska member that make opportunities like this possible. We’d like to express our deepest sincerity and thanks to Omaha Lit Fest, Craig Hughes, Timothy Scaffert and Amy Mather for making this scholarship possible.
If you’re a Nebraska resident or student interested in applying for the Designing Opportunity scholarship for 2015 please keep your eyes open and follow us on Twitter for more information.
