The Show, hosted annually by AIGA Nebraska,
exhibits the best in graphic design, photography, and illustration
produced
in the region, and includes entries from design professionals
and students, featuring both published and unpublished work.
This year, we had a record number of 516 entries which were
reviewed by three judges; Kevin McConkey of gripdesign in
Chicago, Maria Kennedy of Karacters Design Group in Vancouver,
and Justin Ahrens of Rule29 in Chicago.

This show was unique in many ways. The dichotomy between
outstanding and outstandingly bad was palpable, but the real
surprise came with just how great the overall talent pool
is from this oft-overlooked section of the country. Putting
away the thesaurus for a second, allow me to note: you guys
rock! Per capita, this has to be one of the strongest shows
in the nation. Each member of this fantastic chapter should
be proud. It was an honor to judge your work. Thanks.

This community should be really proud of the work it creates
for clients. In a small community it is sometimes easy to
get away from doing great work, but when we saw good work,
it was very good, thought out and well executed.

It was a privilege to be a judge for The Show. The winning
work was conceptually very solid. I was pleasantly surprised
that some of the student work was so strong. Nebraska is
doing some great work and looks like it will continue to
do so. The other highlight was my pure enjoyment of the Runza
– big fan!
Special thanks goes out to all the sponsors.
