AIGA NE is pleased to present 2 EVENTS (Friday, April 14th and Saturday, April 15th) with one incredible social impact designer and civic organizer that's making a difference, Antionette Carroll. Fresh off a speaking engagement at NASA (yes we said NASA), and recently featured in Fast Company (http://bit.ly/2lRa6Xu), our next Big Speaker is a star shining brightly. Don't miss it.
Designing Inclusion and Equity
Antionette, founder of the Creative Reaction Lab (http://www.creativereactionlab.com/), started AIGA National's Diversity and Inclusion initiative (http://www.aiga.org/diversity-and-inclusion-initiative) and that makes her the perfect catalyst for AIGA Nebraska's mission to embrace, engage, and empower this community! On Friday, April 14, Antionette will take aim at the status quo and offer actionable solutions with, “Designing Inclusion and Equity.” This speaking event is open to all career levels, and all social justice/nonprofit advocates are encouraged to attend. Get tickets here.
On the evening of Friday, April 14, Antionette Carroll will speak at the Omaha Community Playhouse about how designers and community members alike can challenge systemic issues, improve global difficulties, and champion human rights while fighting social injustice. This event is open to all career levels, and all social justice/nonprofit advocates are encouraged to attend.
“You cannot say that you are effectively addressing issues if you are not including the people who are affected by them in your efforts and giving them access to power.” -Antionette Carroll
Merging creative problem solving with social entrepreneurship, activists, nonprofit leaders, designers, artists, and the common person alike can develop innovative and impactful approaches challenging systemic issues – especially through interdisciplinary collaboration.
