Barcamp Omaha 2016

WHAT IS BARCAMP?

BarCamp is a user-generated conference that with four focused tracks based on speaker topic. Anyone can sign up, give a talk and share their passion.

The open format offers attendees the unique opportunity to network, learn, and communicate what they are most passionate about! BarCamp conferences are held all over the world, but at BarCamp Omaha we do something special: uniting techies, creatives entrepreneurs and more, we are not merely a "tech conference" or a "design conference." Instead, we strive to include all local innovators and give you a platform to learn, teach, and explore the limits of your creativity. The goals for BarCamp are simple: come with an open mind and share your passions!

FAQs

I have a food allergy, do I have to bring my own lunchbox?

Don’t worry about it! We want to make sure that everyone is included at lunch. If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions just send a message to barcampcochair@nebraska.aiga.org and we'll make sure that you are taken care of.

Do I have to give a talk to attend BarCamp?

Nope! If you'd rather just sit and listen and get inspired, you can do that too! Everyone is invited to give a talk and you can signup at any time during the day, but if you’d prefer to listen, you’re more than welcome.

Is there an age limit / do I have to bring my ID?

All ages are welcome to the main event at Kaneko, though your ID may still come in handy for check-in. To attend the opening party at The Session Room, you must be 21 or older (so bring your ID).

Who do I contact if I have questions?

For general questions, contact programming@nebraska.aiga.org.

To sponsor, contact Lindsay at partnership@nebraska.aiga.org.

To volunteer, contact Tory at records@nebraska.aiga.org.

When do I get my BarCamp t-shirt?

Tees are sponsored by Agape Red. When you purchase a ticket make sure to mark your size so that we know what to order. The tees are Next Level men's sized tri-blend crew.

Note: Due to the nature of having tees available on the day of the event, we send the order at the beginning of August. We add in an estimation contingency so everyone gets a tee. We cannot guarantee your indicated size from registration will still be available the day of the event, so pick up your shirt early in the morning! Use the tee ticket you'll receive Saturday morning and head to the merch table to pick up your tee or any other special BarCamp merch you've been looking for.

Is my ticket transferrable?

If you're unable to attend BarCamp after purchasing your ticket, contact barcampchair@nebraska.aiga.org to transfer or refund your ticket. Ability to do so expires after Sept 7, 2016.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Nope, you don't need to – save those trees! Just be sure to bring your ID for check-in at the opening party so you can get your drink ticket.

We're inclusive of everyone. Take a moment to read our Code of Conduct.
